Daily Scans for Aches and Pains
Today is one of those days that my daily scan for aches and pains turned up some pain. Yesterday my back was aching, but today the pain is worse. I believe I just threw my back out, but in the back of my mind I am worried it’s my cancer is spreading. I am resting, heating, and doing everything I can to feel better. I will keep you updated on how I am doing. Repost from @everydayformbc

“Every morning, I do a scan of my body checking for any new aches or pains. Most days there are no new pains, but some days I have severe pain.
I have mets in my sternum, spine, hips, and femur. Whenever I feel pain in those areas, anxiety sets in. Could it mean the cancer has spread? Did a bone fracture? If the cancer is spreading, does that mean a possible treatment change? I have to remind myself to observe how the pain progresses. When I let my doctor know of my pain, he asks ‘Has the pain gotten worse? Has it gotten better?’
I must remind myself to take a breath and see if the pain subsides and take each day one at a time. Sometimes pain is just a result of overdoing and not a sign that cancer has spread.”— Maggie, @baldballerina
