What Life Will Bring

Thankfully, we never know what life will bring us. I never expected to get terminal metastatic breast cancer at age 23. At that time, I only saw the storm. I had prepared my entire life for a dance career. Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) made that impossible. Gradually, I began accepting that MBC had changed the direction of my life and it was up to me to find a new meaning and purpose. I began shutting out the negative thoughts and focused on living my best life.

Over the past 7 years, I found a way to return to dance as an MBC advocate - using dance to educate that cancer does not discriminate: it can even strike a young, healthy ballerina. My advocacy work has allowed me to meet many wonderful people whose encouragement and support has helped me stay positive. I am very grateful to everyone who has reached out with messages of love and support, particularly during the times when my cancer is active #breastcancer #metastaticbreastcancer#enjoyliving #baldballerina @the_nixons
