Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day
Today is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Metastatic Breast Cancer (also called Stage 4) is breast cancer that has spread to another body part, typically the bones, liver, lungs, or brain. I have metastatic breast cancer that has spread to the bones.
There is no cure for metastatic cancer. I will be on medication for the rest of my life or until a cure is found.
Metastatic breast cancer can affect young women, as well as men. It can also strike years after a person has been successfully treated and deemed "cured".
