Good and Bad News

I have some good news and some bad news to share. Earlier this week, I had a PET-CT scan, echocardiogram, and brain MRI. The brain MRI and echocardiogram were normal, however, the PET-CT scan showed one tiny area of activity in my sternum. For this reason, my oncologist recommended I see a radiation oncologist about getting radiation for that spot.

Last year, the largest amount of bone metastases were located in my sternum. It caused a great deal of pain that I mistakenly attributed to a dance injury. Somehow, I danced through that pain all last spring. Fortunately, I don't have any pain now. I hope that because the new spot is tiny, it can be knocked out before it spreads. Please pray that my medical team finds the best treatment to help rid my body of every cancer cell that is lurking there. While it is upsetting to have a new spot appear, I am grateful to have come so far and to still be able to dance.

I am very grateful for the support, love, and prayers you have sent my way. It gives me strength to continue dancing and to continue battling cancer.
