Treatment Changes
Treatment changes are happening. Yesterday I had a great appointment with my oncologist. We talked about the results of my blood biopsy and what mutations my cancer carries which helped us decide the next step. I will be starting a newly approved drug Truqap which is pills. This drug was developed for patients that have my specific mutations. I will also be going back onto Faslodex which is 2 injections into my butt. I am a little nervous about going back on this drug because the last time I had it, one of the nurses administering it hit my sciatic nerve which I am still dealing with today. As soon as insurance approves it and I get my new pills, I will begin.
When I was leaving, the hospital had a chaplain giving ashes for Ash Wednesday. I took it as a sign for this being a reset and that this treatment will hopefully help.
Thank you for all of your support and prayers; they truly help me get through each day and each bump in the road. #breastcancer#metastaticbreastcancer #baldballerina#newtreatment
