Please join me in signing the petition on Change.org to accurately count the number of patients living with metastatic breast cancer. Currently, the CDC and SEER only count the patients who are stage 4 at their first diagnosis. Those patients who were initially treated for earlier stage breast cancer and later metastasize are not counted until after they die. This practice makes it seem like there are fewer stage 4 patients. Perhaps if all metastatic patients were counted, more research would be directed toward stage 4 treatments.   The goal is 5,000 signatures. Currently, we need about 1500 more.
