32nd Birthday
I can’t believe I made it to my 32th Birthday! When I was diagnosed at age 23, I never thought I would make it to my 30s.
The last three years I have had to deal with bad scans. My treatments changed after each scan and beat back the cancer for a while, but the cancer returned more aggressively each time. This past October, I again began a new treatment which has brought my tumor markers down to the normal range for the first time in years. I hope that this treatment will work for a long time.
Less than 27% of Metastatic Breast Cancer patients live past 5 years. For me to celebrate my 9th birthday with MBC makes me a long time survivor. It is because of all of you that I can call myself that. You have supported me and helped me stay positive and strong. THANK YOU!!! Today I am celebrating my life and you.
