So happy to celebrate my 29th birthday! So grateful to be alive and still dancing! This is a major milestone as only 27% of metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients survive to celebrate 6 birthdays after their metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. Most MBC patients die within 2-3 years of diagnosis. This needs to change. Cancer deaths are far more numerous and just as devastating as deaths caused by opiods, but no one is calling cancer an epidemic or a crisis. This too, needs to change.
I am very grateful for my outstanding medical team that made it possible for me to not only survive, but to also keep dancing. I am also grateful for everyone who supported, encouraged, and prayed for me and for my family. Thank you @livenleap who made it possible for me to celebrate this milestone at one of my favorite places – the @disneyland .
