Goodbye Miss Vickie
Last night, Miss Vickie crossed the Rainbow Bridge, meeting all the other dogs that were part of my family. She died peacefully attended by Dr Morris who took care of her for 10 years. I was grateful that Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital allowed me and my mom to be present to say goodbye.
Vickie was an extraordinary dog and lived 14.5 years. She was part of our family for her last 10 years. She loved hugs, exploring the backyard, getting a teddy bear hair cut, pizza crust, and sleeping in my bed. She purred whenever she was held close. She dug in my armpit where I had cancer in my lymph nodes long before I was diagnosed and she stopped after chemo when I had no sign of active disease.
In March 2018, she suffered a heart attack and was given 12 to 18 months to live. She lived 33 months. She will always have a piece of my heart and will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace Miss Vickie.
