RIP Kate Spade & Anthony Bourdain

Funny how we don’t appreciate someone or something until its gone. Suddenly, my Kate Spade bags and jewelry have become more precious to me. I remember how each piece came into my life and my happiness with each acquisition.

Then Anthony Bourdain also died.Although I never met Kate Spade or Anthony Bourdain, they were part of my life in many ways. I will miss their wit, their authenticity, and their understanding of what makes life wonderful: whimsy, bright colors, humor, and good food. It’s especially sad that two people who brought fun and laughter to so many people felt their own lives were not worth living.

Sometimes people who are hurting put on a sunny exterior to protect those they care about. Treasure your friends and family; let them know how much they mean to you. No one should ever feel alone and unloved.

Many years ago, my godmother Amber gave me my 1st Kate Spade bag: a clear vinyl make-up bag with the words “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.” I still use it today. Thank you Kate and Tony for sharing your gifts with the world – you made the day more beautiful in our neighborhoods. Rest in peace. #baldballerina#terminalbreastcancer #thisismbc #breastcancer#metastaticbreastcancer #katespade#anthonybourdain #rip
